Fire Risk Reduction Community List
About
The Fire Risk Reduction Community List, as mandated by PRC 4290.1, is "a list of local agencies located in a state responsibility area or a very high fire hazard severity zone...that meet best practices for local fire planning." The List is developed and maintained by the Board, with the first iteration beginning July 1, 2022 and updated every two years thereafter.

Applying for the List
The 2024 application period will be open December 1, 2023 and close April 1, 2024. The Board will not accept applications received after 11:59pm on April 1, 2024.
2024 Fire Risk Ruction Communities List Application
Submit applications and supporting documents to the Box account: Fire Risk Reduction Community List Applications | Powered by Box
You will need to create a free Box account or login if you have an existing account. Once logged in, you can join the folder, upload the application along with any supporting documents into a new folder labeled with your organization’s name. Each applicant will create an individual folder that contains all the documents needed for review by our staff.
The Board of Forestry and Fire Protection will hold 2 Public Workshops with information pertaining to the Fire Risk Reduction Communities List, with an overview on how to apply. Both workshops will provide the same information, there is no need to attend both. Having two separate dates is for the sole purpose of accommodating scheduling conflicts.
Fire Risk Reduction Public Workshop Dates:
Tuesday, January 16, 2024, 9:00am-10:30am
Wednesday, January 31, 2024, 10:00am-11:30am
